Video: TWISTED SISTER Frontman's 'Dee Does Broadway & Holiday Favorites' NYC Show
January 10, 2013Heavy metal icon Dee Snider, lead singer of the legendary 1980s rock band TWISTED SISTER, played two very special shows this past holiday season (December 20-21, 2012) at 54 Below in New York City consisting of showtunes and Christmas songs like you’ve never heard them before!
Fan-filmed video footage of one of the concerts can be seen below.
Snider has gone on to success with his own radio talk show, in film and on television, including his recent and forthcoming appearances on "The Celebrity Apprentice". But Dee's longtime passion is Broadway, as evidenced by his new CD, "Dee Does Broadway", in which he covers everything from "West Side Story" and "Sweeney Todd" to "Sweet Charity" and "Chicago". Broadway audiences embraced him during his recent stint in "Rock Of Ages", and, on the last season of "The Celebrity Apprentice", his charity of choice was none other than Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
"Dee Does Broadway" was released on May 8, 2012 via Razor & Tie. The CD features Dee's powerful voice and theatrical persona as he exudes his rock ' n' roll take on several Broadway classics. The new album coincided with the release of his first-ever autobiography, "Shut Up And Give Me The Mic" (Gallery Books).
